Classified adverts and banner advertising can both be obtained for free; arguably it is classifieds that produce better results, provided you test the wording to find what works best. You’ll need to search for those sites which provide classifieds for free, but there are several in existence.
You can also enter into exchange agreements with fellow website owners, to swap banner advertising or links to each other’s sites. If your sites are of a similar nature this can be an excellent way to obtain extra traffic for free.
The key to using free promotional methods is to think creatively to find new and usable ways to promote your website to new customers. And don’t just concentrate on online methods – word of mouth is still one of the best ways to spread the word, so don’t be afraid to do so.
